ITEMS OF INTEREST

  • President Kennedy was a UN Ambassador.
  • Olivia entered "Martin Luther King/Eldridge Cleaver Memorial Park" which has a plaque quoting them as saying "We have a dream" rather than "I". (Image 1)
  • The penny-farthing Olivia saw in the park is both a difference between the Blueverse and Redverse and a reference to the cult science fiction television show The Prisoner, in which a recurring plotline is the attempt to reprogram the mind of a government agent. (Image 2)
  • Henry Higgins is the name of the lead male character in George Bernard Shaw's play 'Pygmalion' and the musical/movie 'My Fair Lady' based on it. He is tasked with changing a woman so that she fits in with high society.
  • Possible source for the idea of transferring memories.

  • Tom Cruise is a TV star, not a film star.
  • Massive Dynamic does not exist. (Image 2)
  • Shell and Exxon have merged into Shexxon. (Image 3)
  • People are playing cricket in the park, implying that cricket is a common sport in Redverse America. (Image 4)

S3E04 - Do Shapeshifters Dream of Electric Sheep?

  • Senator Van Horn was questioning Peter about his experiences with Walternate in "Olivia". Van Horn was revealed to be a Shapeshifter in "Do Shapeshifters Dream of Electric Sheep?", so his questioning of Peter was likely for intel.

S3E05 - Amber 31422

  • Colonel Broyles (in "Amber 31422"):
"Sir... It's a tragic, but a small price to pay for the greater good. People understand that."
    Walternate:
"Perhaps. But if they were to find out that the amber victims could be removed and resuscitated, I'm afraid the outcry would be akin to revolt."
    Colonel Broyles:
    "Quarantine victims are alive?"
    Walternate:
    "Theoretically."

People think that those who are ambered are dead; a group protested ambering the opera house in "Olivia". The public doesn't know that amber victims are actually alive. (Image 1)

S3E08 - Entrada

  • Colonel Broyles (to Walternate in "Olivia"):
"Shore patrol says there's no way she could have made it across, that the currents are impossible this time of year."
    Walternate:
    "What do you think?"
    Colonel Broyles:
"I think from what I know of Olivia Dunham, she's the one person I would bet on who could survive."

Both versions of Broyles hold their respective Olivias in similarly high regard.

    Broyles (to Peter in "Entrada"):
"Peter, we'll get her. And we're going to bring Olivia home."
    Peter:
    "Glad you're feeling so confident."
    Broyles:
"She was strong enough to get us a message. And if there were anyone I would bet on to survive over there, it would be her."

S3E22 - The Day We Died

  • Peter offered to "save" Senator Van Horn's pen with a special trick when it was just about out of ink in "Olivia". Van Horn laughed at him for caring to save a pen and then Van Horn just let it die. This foreshadowed Peter's attitude toward the Redverse in "The Day We Died" where he found a way to save the alternate universe and fix its problems rather than let it continue to decay and ultimately die.
